How to take care of your Notebook.

Cracked screens, smashed corners, overheating, dust build up.

How do you avoid these things, or clean up after them?

It is important that you take good care of your notebook to keep it working well.

Its best practice to keep liquids and food away from your laptop if you can. This will help avoid those unwanted spills.

To avoid cracking your screen, put your charger in a separate pocket of your bag to the notebook. Any sort of pressure to your case/bag will carry through easily to the charger and potentially crack your screen. Also make sure that there are no pens, pencils, ear phones, even paper clips on top of your keyboard before closing the lid. You should avoid lifting your notebook by the LCD panel, lift it from the base. Not only will this put less stress on your hinges but avoid cracking your LCD panel.

To avoid damaging the corners keep the notebook charging cord behind your desk, or taped to the floor to avoid tripping and pulling the notebook by the charging point. Additionally remove the charger regularly not only during transit but to run the battery flat to ensure battery life is maximized.

While we cannot all keep our notebooks in a pristine environment. Keeping them in a room without animals is advised, as fur can get trapped in the fan, causing the notebook to become very hot. To prevent dust build up, clean your desk and bag regularly, do not place your notebook on top of paperwork or onto a dirty surface. Do not use your notebook on a bed or soft surface as this can block the air intake to the fan and cause the notebook to overheat.

We cannot recommend that you do not touch your computer, however a light spray with a screen cleaner and a wipe will remove those fingerprints and grubby marks.

A small amount or care goes a long way in protecting out notebooks as the assets to our lives that they are.
