How to get the most out of your laptop.
Use an external mouse. Track pads are very useful but they can present problems when transitioning from desktop to laptop. While it is a personal preference there are differences between the two.
Remove software you do not use. Un used software can slow down your system. Most devices come with come software pre-loaded. Upon the first start up after you have proceeded with any updates that are requested. We recommend removing any programs that you do not require. To ensure your device is fresh and new and not already ‘full or junk’ that you will not use.
Back up your data, like an insurance on your car we recommend to have a copy of your data on an external Hard drive in case of hard drive failure, power surges, Viruses or any other interruptions that could cause data loss.
On the topic of Viruses, Anti-virus is a must for every device connected to the internet. Malware and viruses are lurking everywhere and can cause havoc on even the simplest of systems. To ensure your data and your personal details stay safe.
Keep laptop cool. Ensure that the fans in your device are not covered during use otherwise your device could overheat and possibly damage internal components.
Invest in additional charger, while this may sound silly having a secondary charger at the office or at home is worth the investment. Even having one at a permanent place and then another in the Bag you have for the laptop is a great idea so you never forget it and always have one set up ready to go at the home or office. And it may also reduce the wear and tear on your machine if they are placed in permanent positions.
And finally, a good laptop bag. We often see devices the come in here with a laptop bag that is just too small for the device and all the accessories that the customer is using. Placing items within the laptops enclose can cause issues in the future, it can cause Cracked screens or damaged ports. Which can be costly. Take the time and money to invest in a bag that will hold all that you need in it. Your future self will thank you.
