How much is technology affecting our lives?
Let’s take a look around the home and see just how many things use technology to operate. How would you go without them in this day?
Whilst it is true you can survive without these things, we often hear about people ‘Not knowing what to do with themselves’ without computers, televisions or mobile phones.
Start with your front door; do you have an alarm system or door bell, what would you do if either of these stopped working, will you be attune to listen for the door know instead or comfortable with no security within your home. In your lounge room televisions and smart TV’s are becoming more advanced every month. Maybe you have a blu-ray player, media box, DVD player, surround sound system and the list goes on? Yes we could survive without TV but how would we catch up on the latest episode of MasterChef?
Moving to the kitchen, smart fridges, digital clock on your oven, microwave oven, coffee machine, etc. Then on to your laundry with your auto turn off iron, washing machine with timer and alarm. There is no escaping technology here either.
How many of you are making use of the electric blanket on your bed at the moment in this lovely winter weather we are having. Some of you may have your mobile phone and tablet chargers plugged into and sitting on your bedside with your touch lamps.
With the amount of technology on offer today many of you will have a study or a corner where you setup all your technical equipment, wifi router, computer/s, printer, back-up device and so on.
Then the largest technical piece of equipment we use daily sitting in your garage, your car or motorbike. These have had significant changes over the years and there will be more and more, just like the hybrid engine or the car that can reverse itself or the electric motorbike.
Now all of these things we could live without, but would you want to? This brings me to the point, “you can’t run away from Technology” it has been integrated into everyday objects so regardless of what you are doing you will be utilising technology in some form or another whether you are aware of it or not. Sometimes we just don’t have a choice as the manufacturers have implemented it.
Do not be afraid of technology, embrace it. Do not hide and think it will just go away. It won’t it will only advance further. And when you’re too far behind and feel like you can never catch up again call us. We don’t bite! We have technicians and in store facilities available for one on one training, so you don’t need to feel you are being left behind.
