Microsoft Vista - End of Life
Everyone knows who Microsoft is. They are a software company that provides your Windows operating system for your computers.
Well the time has come for them to stop support for one of their programs, Vista. Effective 11th April 2017 product support will cease.
What does this mean for those of you who may still have this as your operating system?

You will no longer receive Windows updates from Microsoft – Updates helped with protecting your computer from threats.

You will no longer receive any support from Microsoft on this product – which means driver updates will no longer be provided which helped to keep your hardware and software working together.

Your computer will continue to function however will become vulnerable to new threats or technology changes over time.

Overtime you may experience issues causing your operating system to stop working properly
What should you do from here?

Run any Microsoft updates due on your system to make sure you have the latest ones to maximise your cover on your system

Assess whether it is viable to upgrade to the next version of Microsoft operating system on your computer

Look at purchasing a new computer with the latest operating system so you have the ongoing support from Microsoft
For those who have a Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 system, you are ok for now. But so you can plan in advance the support end dates from Microsoft on these will be:
Windows 7 – January 2020
Windows 8 (8.1) – January 2023
The latest operating system on the market is now Windows 10, which was released in July 2015. Microsoft have since provided an upgrade to this software making it known as Windows 10.1. This version is much improved and easier to navigate and has the look of both Windows 7 and 10 combined.
