Is your computer slow?

It’s probably spending too much time going to and from the filing cabinet!

Let me explain…… With humans, when we get overloaded, and can’t remember things, we write things down, and store them until we need them.

Essentially the computer does the same thing.  When its ‘short term’ (RAM) memory is overloaded, it has to store information in a temporary place just like we do.

Now the problem your computer encounters, which slows it down, is when the computer’s short term memory is very small, therefore it has to write everything down, all the time. This would be like you having to store every thought you had by writing it longhand on a piece of paper, and then storing the paper over in the filing cabinet in the corner.  Every time you wanted to start thinking with that thought, you would have to go to the filing cabinet, retrieve the information, before you can even start!

Luckily, increasing a computers short term memory is as easy as a RAM upgrade, which can be done for as little as $134.  Contact your local computer specialist who can discuss your options with you.

Now, when will they have a ‘short term’ memory upgrade for a human, that’s what I want to know!

As always, if you need more advice, don’t hesitate to contact your local IT professional.
